Anne Adema, MD Pediatric Emergency Physician
Anne Adema, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Acute Care Education in the Section of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children's Hospital Colorado. Dr. Adema focuses on education outreach, pediatric preparedness, and simulation. She is a member of the Colorado Pediatric Preparedness for the Emergency Room (COPPER) Program.


MATTHEW ANGELIDIS, MD CO-CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr Matthew Angelidis graduated from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in 2002 with a Medical Doctorate and then completed Emergency Medicine Residency training at Madigan Army Medical Center/University of Washington in Seattle. He went on to complete a 15 year career in the Army serving in tours overseas in Iraq before joining the UCHealth ER and EMS teams in Colorado Springs. He has spent his entire career working in EMS and serving as a Physician Medical Director for agencies in Washington, Texas, Georgia and finally here in Colorado where he currently serves as the Medical Director for the UCHealth Center for EMS Excellence overseeing the medical care of over 100 EMS agencies in the Plains to Peaks RETAC in central Colorado. He is the Co-Chief Medical Director for Colorado Springs Fire Department and AMR and serves as the Medical Director for the UCHealth Mobile Stroke Telehealth Unit. He also serves as the Medical Director for “The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb” on Pikes Peak Mountain. He is committed to serving prehospital health care professionals and strives to improve the care received by the citizens of Colorado Springs and the Plains to Peaks RETAC for our communities and families before they reach our hospitals.


Glenn Burket III, DO Medical Director for Mesa County EMS
Dr. Burket completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and underwent Emergency Medicine Residency training at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown PA. He then attended the University of North Carolina for EMS fellowship, where he was exposed to a variety of EMS systems, both urban and rural, in addition to working directly with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol providing operational and occupational medical support. He is dually board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has a special interest in airway management, high fidelity simulation, performance under stress, and law enforcement medical support.


Fidel O Garcia Paramedic
Fidel O. Garcia, Paramedic, nationally recognized presenter, AHA training center coordinator, Owner Professional EMS Education, Grand Junction, CO. Fidel began his career in 1979 in Leadville, Colorado. He began teaching EMS education classes in 1983. Fidel has worked as a medic in prehospital EMS, a flight medic and hospital based EMS agencies. He has been presenting at local, state, regional, national EMS conferences and events for the last 28 years. Fidel is a frequent reviewer of EMS textbooks and is published in textbook and magazine for EMS


Dave Gilmore, MD Medical Director
Dr. Gilmore is a former Academic Professor of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. American Heart Association former ECC Science Publications Editor, AHA Programs Education Committee, Regional Faculty, Course Director & International Training Officer.


Alicia Olson PMHNP
Alicia Olson PMHNP BSN from Winona State University 2007, MSN from University of North Dakota 2017 10 years working inpatient mental health as RN in Wisconsin. In 2017 moved to Colorado and worked at Mind Springs/West Springs Hospital for 4 years as NP. Currently working in Grand Junction in private practice and Grand Valley Primary Care providing medication management for patients 13+ with mental health concerns. In my free time I love to be with my husband and dogs, reading/crafting, spending time outdoors and running.


Stephen J. Rahm, NRP, FcEHS Chief Office of Clinical Direction
Stephen J. Rahm is a paramedic, educator, and author whose career in EMS spans more than 35 years. Chief Rahm currently oversees the Office of Clinical Direction at the Centre for Emergency Health Sciences and manages all clinical efforts within Bulverde Spring Branch Emergency Services. Stephen is a prolific author, with numerous prehospital emergency medicine, textbooks, videos, and articles published to his credit. Additionally, his research, efforts are published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Care, Prehospital Emergency Care, and Military Medicine, as well as on multiple scientific posters. He is the Centre’s Co-Chair and is a respected faculty member in procedural and anatomical programs, multi-lead ECG interpretation, trauma care, cardiac arrest management, and more. Chief Rahm is a frequent speaker at local, regional, state, and national conferences, where he presents on a wide array of emergency medicine related topics.


Sam Slishman, MD Chief Medical Officer
"Dr. Slishman graduated from his emergency medicine residency in 2000 at the University of New Mexico, and has since worked in a wide variety of rural and urban settings. He's worked in ski clinics, on cruise ships and has volunteered in settings like Haiti after the 2010 earthquake as well. In 2003 he founded a nonprofit in Albuquerque called Endorphin Power Company for drug and alcohol rehab, and ran it until 2011. In 2012 he resettled in San Luis Obispo and still covers ER shifts in nearby King City. He and his wife started "Pre-R" as well in 2015 to offer housecalls and telemedicine. Between work and playing with family, Sam also spends a great deal of time tinkering in his garage. And that tinkering led him to become Chief Medical Officer for Rescue Essentials, which is the company he has to thank for bringing a variety of his inventions to market."


Corey Slovis, MD FACP, FACEP, FAAEM, FEMS, Medical Director
Dr. Corey Slovis is the founding Chairman of Vanderbilt’s Department of Emergency Medicine and served in that role from July 1992 until July 2020. He is currently the Medical Director for the Nashville Fire Department and Nashville’s International Airport. He has completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Slovis is one of Emergency Medicine’s most famous educators and routinely teaches at the largest gatherings of our specialty. He has received the Judith E. Tintinalli Outstanding Contribution in Education Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has also won the American College of Emergency Physicians Speaker of the Year Award, the Peter Rosen Award from the American Association of Emergency Physicians, and the Hal Jayne Award for Academic Excellence from the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Slovis received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Chairs in Emergency Medicine. He was one of the first Vanderbilt faculty members to be named a Master Clinical Teacher by the Dean and has been selected as Best Clinical Professor by the graduating medical school classes at every institution where he has taught, having won this award seven times in his career. Dr. Slovis has two teaching awards named after him: Vanderbilt’s Corey M. Slovis Excellence in Teaching Award and the Major Metropolitan EMS Medical Directors Consortium’s Corey M. Slovis Award for Excellence in Education. Dr. Slovis teaches regularly, continues to publish with more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, and has co-authored three books. Dr. Slovis is a runner and practices yoga both aggressively and poorly. He is married to Dr. Bonnie Slovis, Professor Emeritus of Pulmonary and Critical Care


Mark Warth, NRP, BHS Medical Program Coordinator
Mark is the Medical Program Coordinator for the Colorado Springs Fire Department which is one of the busiest systems in Colorado. He is the Fire-Medial Program Coordinator, providing monthly CE classes for local agencies, renewal courses, and EMS PI program management. He has been involved with EMS for more than 20 years as a course coordinator, university faculty member, guest speaker, EMS training coordinator and EMS coordinator, bringing experience and humor to the classroom


Elvi Whiteford, MD, AADPD Lead physician
Dr Elvi Whiteford is a native to Western Colorado and returned to Grand Junction after finishing medical school, residency and a fellowship all in California. She has been back home for over 12 years. Dr Whiteford has recently taken a position at the VA in Grand Junction as the Lead for the Women’s Health Department. She enjoyed 10 years at St. Mary's Hospital as a faculty at the Family Medicine Residency. While there, she was the faculty director of the OB/Gyn curriculum and taught low and high risk obstetrics and c-sections to the residency and staff alike. She slowed life down a bit and joined Appleton Clinics where she had the opportunity to still enjoy the full spectrum primary care. Dr Whiteford loves to travel with her wonderful high school sweet heart and husband, and keeps busy running after her two growing boys - and in many 10K and 5k's, as well gardening, cooking and hiking.
